LAY IT ON DOWN, the ninth album from five-time Grammy nominee and critically acclaimed guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd and the KWSBand, is out August 4! The KWSBand on LAY IT ON DOWN features his long-time lead vocalist Noah Hunt, the rhythm section from Kenny’s supergroup side project The RIDES, Chris Layton (drums) and Kevin McCormick (bass), and keyboardist Jimmy McGorman. More than two decades into a recording career that began when he was 16, Kenny Wayne Shepherd has built a powerful reputation as a visionary recording artist, a riveting live performer and one of the most talented and distinctive guitarists of his generation. He’s also earned his stature as one of the contemporary blues world’s leading lights, standing at the forefront of a widespread revival of interest in the blues.
Kicking off the night are The Peterson Brothers – a modern blend of blues, soul and funk. Rising stars in Austin, Texas, the Peterson Brothers have been referred to as, “The future of Austin music” by Mark Murray of Sun Radio in Austin, and “Some of the most talented musicians I have seen come out of Austin” by Jamfeed. The Peterson Brothers have shared the stage with some of the world’s great guitarists, including Gary Clark, Jr. and the late great B.B. King.
